Finding a rom-com happy ending that my mother would have loved—that could change all the bad feels to good, couldn’t it? Though there are lots of these references, they don't feel like product placement, more just scene setting. Liz is a quirky but relatable teen who likes wearing boldly patterned dresses with pockets, reading novels, and watching romcom films. For Liz, Wes has been this kind of irritating constant in her life – he pranked her when they were children and now their interactions mostly revolve around who gets access to the parking spot on the street outside Liz’s house.He’s also one of Michael’s best friends, and for this reason Liz has to do the one thing she would never have wanted to do: ask Wes Bennett for help in making Michael notice her. I love the genre (quelle surprise) so understood why Liz was so obsessed but I also understood Wes and Liz's stepmom's feelings on the genre.
