About this deal

It’s all the fun and flavour of a fish pie, in 15 minutes, in one pan, and it’s an enormous hit in my household. The 2013 book deal resulted in housing benefit being frozen and Monroe came close to being evicted, which led to moving into cheaper accommodation.

I’m a tactile cook, so I like to break them up with my hands instead of slicing them, but it doesn’t make a difference to the end result of the recipe. This recipe is adapted from my second book, A Year In 120 Recipes, and is a firm favourite in the hot weather! I often substitute the fresh potato and carrot for their tinned sisters, for an even easier version. I’m not going to pretend I didn’t, or flail around deleting all the carnivore recipes from my blog (though I will eventually have a vegan alternative for most of them, because I cook to live and my blog reflects that). This is pretty good news, considering how blue I have been the last few days… Black dog came home, and cooking is the self-love I need but often the first thing it takes in its jaws.
