Using a brush or your hands, gently massage KG pet shampoo as you would a shampoo over the entire body of your pet and leave on for approximately 5 minutes or more. Static mites are treatable with a special shampoo or spray that you can purchase from your local veterinarian. If you’re confident it’s fungal mange rather than mange mites you can use fungal dips to treat your pet, in which you hold the guinea pig and gently dip it into the special substance (containing ivermectin), keeping the head above water at all times.

Then twice a day morning and late evening spray all over the body and rub in, leave to dry for severe skin problems. While both will make your guinea pig itch, sarcoptic mites can cause mange, which is incredibly painful and can cause seizures.First, your veterinarian will examine your pet's fur and skin for evidence of mites and other external parasites. The head will need treatment too but instead of submersion this area can be treated by rubbing the treatment into your pet’s head hair and ears with your fingers.
