About this deal

the side characters in this carry a big chunk of this book and im not even mad. the plot is just so good and hermes, zofie, sybil, and even leuce (hades ex) were so damn funny. hecate, the god of witchcraft, will always be my favorite. she’s like the perfect mom persephone wish she had cause her actual mom should be burned alive. SPEAKING OF HER MOM, DEMETER, i don’t know how persephone keeps putting up with her she is AWFUL. don’t worry bb i’ll rescue you 💅🏼 So, she devises a plan to marry him, keep the national peace and then kill him to obtain her freedom once more. But her attempt is unsuccessful and Adrian threatens her with the thing she fears most.

Surge of Darkness — Pulsing a Surge of Darkness Inflicting 1500 damage every 2 sec to non-Dark enemies. I genuinely enjoyed the first book. I really really did. But where the first books conflict had to do with Persephone facing her mother, her own powers, Adonis, and the deal with Hades, the second book has one plot point. Finally, I’m just putting it out there that putting pictures of pomegranates and using Roman numerals in the chapter headings does not a mythological retelling make.

Because depending on what you are looking for, this can determine whether you rate A Touch of Darkness 4 – 5 stars or 1 – 3 stars. ¡Y vaya escenas!

A tale as old as time, this Beauty and the Beast retelling will have you swooning! A perfect novel for lovers of books similar to A Touch of Darkness, A Curse so Dark and Lonely is an enemies-to-lovers story with a heroine who resides from our own, real world is a unique and stunning fantasy! Shield of Darkness — A Shield of Darkness that protects the sister from harm absorbing 700,000 (Hard mode 1,200,000) damage and prevents spell interruption for 15 sec. The Val'kyr's Light touch has affected you, inflicting 5850 to 6150 Light damage to players under the effect of Dark Essence every 2 sec. The Touch of Light will not harm targets with the same attributes as it. It was actually relatable and the only genuine thing I could find about this book. But since it isn’t a large part of this book, their relationship didn’t make up for all the nonsense going on.

Apparently he is so damn sensitive that it even pains him to hear vicious accusations about his reputation. It's also time to retire a dynamic where one party (usually the woman) says something that implies she isn't interested, and the other party (usually the man) "sees past" her protests to what she "really wants" and informs her of her own desires. It's gross and problematic. It gets a slight pass in this story, since Hades is literally a god and can literally see into people's souls, but it's still pretty skeevy. Healers: 3-5 — Depending on your goalies' ability to shield the raid from orbs damage, you may need more or less healing on the raid. A Touch of Darkness started off really well for me. I am a reader who always gets bored in the first few chapters of books, but this one interested me immediately from the very first chapter, which is uncommon for me when reading other series. I also adore the immaculate chemistry between Persephone and Hades alongside these two characters’ characteristics.

The “it was all for a bet” trope, this literally felt so random and unnecessary like why even include this? it added nothing to the plot. All of St. Clair’s books have been published by Bloom Books, a small publishing house that aims to provide authors with the platform of a standard publisher with an increased amount of control for authors over their work. This publishing house also works with authors including B. Celeste, Ana Huang, Laura Thalassa, and Mercedes Ron, just four names among many other female writers. Persephone is, nominally, the goddess of spring. If she was, as the story implies, born 20-some actual years ago, how has spring happened before her birth? Since she can't make her powers manifest, how does spring happen at all? Who gave her the title of "goddess of spring", if A) none of the other gods knew about her (as is implied) and B) she shows no gift for anything springtime-related? Eydis Darkbane begins to cast a powerful vortex of Dark. Channels for 5 sec inflicting 15600 to 16400 damage every 1 sec for 5 sec. She was bratty, wimpy, annoying, insecure (this one I can let it slides sometimes), jealous and incredibly stupid. I thought it would turn around in the end, have some sort of inner growth arc to her character but the conclusion to all of these issues were dealt with poorly. She made stupid decisions after stupid decisions. Then, she blamed other people, Hades, Apollo, Jaison for driving her to do those stupid decisions. For making her that way. It was all about her and none about other people's feelings or considerations.

There’s like minimal world building and the use of Greek mythology is pretty weak. The only thing that seems to separate the so-called divines from the humans are their horns. The gods were just too human like for me, they also had some “powers” which were barely shown at all but whatever.
