Vis-a-vis family tents always focus on the sleeping space, rather than the living space. It’s the limitation of the design. The Zenobia 6 and 8 are for those who can accept that the living space is limited, and don’t mind that the family will have to spend most of the time outside the tent during the day. However, both Zenobia tents have a living room large enough for the whole family in case it rains. We have the Kalahari 10 too. It's bloody enormous - more like an aircraft hangar than a tent but it works well for us. Campers, or 'glampers' often prefer cotton canvas as it's durable and breathable, providing excellent protection from UV rays but also retaining heat to keep you nice and toasty in the night. The porch could do with a better fit to the main tent but it served its purpose and looked great when up. Sizes and space: if you'll be mostly using your tent just for sleep, you probably won't need a lot of indoor space, but we'd suggest opting for one with a good porch to store your other camping gear or wood for a campfire. It took my partner and I 30-40 minutes to set up the tent and porch combo, with a little adjusting of pole placement.

Bought this porch on deal with the tent to increase the living space. It certainly does that and provides extra room to keep cooking gear in and to bring the table and chairs in overnight! The sides of the porch blow in and the wind blows under the porch. I returned my porch as it had a small hole in. Getting the pole into the key was too tight and I think the tent would break. Putting the porch up is relatively straight forward and took us about 30 minutes but we were taking our time. Just a note about guy rope tension. I've noticed from pictures posted that many people have their guys too tight resulting in misshapen tents and porches. These tents pretty much stand up on their own. The guys are really only a stability aid, and an adjuster to help things stand upright and also to stop the tent taking off in the wind. They don't need to be taut like a guitar string. Personally, I adjust them so they are just straight, rather than drooping, but not TIGHT tight.
